Temecula, CA | March 25 2023

The City SC men’s semi-pro team is in its second year of existence and welcomed Rebels SC to Temecula for the home opener of the 2023 Spring Season. In front of a large and enthusiastic home crowd, City SC played the visitors to a 1-1 tie in a game that was marred by a stadium light outage halfway through the second half. This outage was caused by an incident off-site, and was not a venue issue.

The UPSL is still making a final determination of the fate of the match, and the team could end up restarting the game at the 62-minute mark and completing it.

City SC equalized in the second half via a stunning freekick by newcomer Kavanah Bollinger.

The match was the club debut for many, including new Head Coach, Joe Smith, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur Academy where he finished a spell as Head Coach.

The club is excited to partner with Rancho Christian High School this season and all our home games will be played on campus. The venue is intimate, top class, modern, and offers the best fan experience of any venue in the region.

The club honored our three State Cup 2023 Youngers Champions and Finalists in an emotional halftime ceremony: Finalists G11 Pre-Academy and Coach Angelo Fiorini, Finalists G10 Premier Menifee and Coach Steven Nino, and Champions B11 Premier and Coach Zak Ruvalcaba.

Next home game: Saturday, April 8 at 6PM

Venue: Rancho Christian High School

Opponent: Southwest SC
